A science topic that interests me is a tesseract. A tesseract is a device that can sort of bend the space-time continuum. If you were in California and you have motion sickness, and you can't go on an airplane, then you could use the tesseract to get to China. In geometry, a tesseract is known as a "regular octachoron." It is a 4 dimensional analog of the cube. In The Wrinkle In Time, they use the tesseract to transport to different places, traveling through different dimensions.

The science topic I was interested in was neurology. Neurology is the study of the brain and the nervous system. A neurologist is someone who specializes in this area. Neurological disorders can affect the nervous systems, brain and spinal cord. Neurological exams are ways of finding disorders by testing the vision, coordination, strength and reflexes of the patient. In A Wrinkle in Time, IT is a brain. Because of the fact that IT does not have a body, it does not have a nervous system or a spinal cord either. The brain sends messages to the rest of the body through nerves, but IT has no body or messenger (nerves) to send messages. I found this topic interesting because I was very intrigued by the fact that IT is only a brain with no body.

That topic interests me too. I learned something new today, because I actually didn't know much about neurology. Thanks Annie!

The science topic that I chose to do research on was biology. Biology is the study of life and living organisms. Biologists study the organisms' structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. Biology has many subdisciplines defined by 5 pieces of evidence. They are: cells are the basic unit of life, genes are the basic unit of heredity, new species and inherited traits are the product of evolution, an organism regulates its internal environment to maintain a stable and constant condition and living organisms consume and transform energy.

Astronomy is a science topic that interests me. Astronomy is the study of all things that relate to the sky or outer space (celestial things). The moon, the sun, the stars, the sky, the planets, our solar system, galaxies, and other objects that relate to the sky or to outer space are a part of astronomy. Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences around. Did you know that a telescope is very important to the study of astronomy. I think I really got interested in astronomy, because the novel a Wrinkle in Time deals with astronomy as well. It contains information about different planets (even though some of those planets are made up), facts about stars (even though they say that the people are stars who were historic figures and they are fighting against the dark thing) and that one of the main settings for this novel is in space. So thats why I am so interested in astronomy and thats what I found out about astronomy.

The topic that I found interesting was Absolute Zero.
Absolute zero is the lowest possible temperature ever, where no heat exists in any way, shape or form. Scientists have tried to reach Absolute zero, yet have never succeeded because it physically impossible to have no moving particles in a substance. This is because no particle will stay absolutely motionless, even space and time itself are moving. This means you can never, ever, reach absolute zero.

The topic i thought of was the stars. What research i found was that a star is a massive luminous sphere of plasma held together by gravity. The nearest star to the earth is the sun which provides light and much energy for the people of earth cause of our perfect distance away from the sun. What i believe a star is its a super duper far away light source made from some kinda thermonuclear fusion which makes the star shines very brightly. i found this very cool and very intresting.
