Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, John A. MacDonald and Nelson Mandela. I nominated these 4 people because they never gave up on what they believed in, or they fought for their and other's independence and rights. They wouldn't turn up a chance like this and they would probably do anything to help other people. ****I don't even know if these people count as historical figures..****

I would also nominate Mother Teresa and Oprah Winfrey for proving to the world that you do not have to be famous or rich to help or rise from the poor. I think they would be good stars because no matter what happend they focused on the positive sides of life. Even though they went through horrible times they also proved that even woman can stay strong and fight battles independently.

First, I would nominate Helen Keller because she overcame the obstacles in her way (blind and deaf) and became an author, political activist, lecturer and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Radcliffe College.
Second, I would nominate Rosa Parks because she stood up for what she believed in. She wasn't going to let people discriminate her and people like her because of their race, so she stood up for what was right and it paid off.
Third, I would nominate Mother Teresa because she did so much for the poor in terms of establishing a school, orphanage and many clinics for them. The amount of charity work that she did in her lifetime is remarkable.
Fourth, I would nominate Leonardo Da Vinci because he brought so many new ideas and possibilities to the human race and most of his ideas and possibilities were way before his time. He has accomplished so much as a scientist, engineer, architect, painter and much more.

Thomas Edison- Created efficient light for mankind to use which made a big impact on how people are able to see in the dark ( also makes some sense since four people have to bring light to fight the darkness so who else would be more suited than the man who "created light".)
Albert Einstein and Steven Hawking- Both are very intelligent men that are able to understand and solve very difficult problems many people have trouble with.
Homer (poet, and philosopher from Greece)- He is able to understand and write a story which will tell about the darkness, he is also able to get info about different places so he can create a plan to defeat the darkness and understand life more.
I chose these for people because I believe that the darkness will be destroyed not by physical power but mentally so I picked a few of earth's intelligent minds to fight on our behalf.

First I would nominate Terry Fox. Terry Fox was a very dedicated and kind person who sacrificed his life to help others who had cancer. Terry had almost made a run across Canada but had been stopped because of his health issues and raised 500 million dollars for cancer research.
The next person I would nominate is Albert Einstein. Albert Einstein is very smart and was considered to be the smartest scientist on earth. Albert Einstein can create new things and develop techniques to fight the darkness.
The third person I would choose to nominate is Rosa Parks. Rosa never gave up on what she thought was right and stood up to white people. She was the reason black people finally got rights in America.
Lastly I would nominate Nelson Mandela. He sacrificed himself and went through many years of severe suffer cation to help save the lives of people.

First off, I would like to nominate Walt Disney to become a star because I believe he can lighten the darkness, as he lightened the world with his animations. He created an opportunity for families to be able to connect and have the same kind of youthful feeling when they were together being surrounded by magic, watching something on screen, or at an amusement park. He made unbelievable things happen (through animation) and had imagination come to life. He brightened up our world, and brought joy and happiness to many children and their families.
Second, I want to nominate Martin Luther King because he stood up for the injustice. He tried to move people towards a world where everyone was the same, disregarding the skin colour. Even though he knew it would probably cost him his life, he spoke up for his dream, for peace, and eventually helped freed the slaves. I would also like to nominate Rosa Parks, who did the similar thing as Martin Luther King and stood up for herself, not willing to give up her seat for a white man.
Fourth, I would like to nominate Bill Gates, who changed our world with Windows, bringing the world's technology to greater heights. Even though he has a unbelievable amount of money, he has saved many, many people by donating over 6 billion dollars with his own money. He is indeed a very good person that can light up the dark with his generosity.

Abe Lincon because his honesty gave people nothing to worry aboyut which may give Meg more belife she could save her father than her brother, or the W's. Martin Luther KIng Jr. he gave speeches that helped give Americains faith in what they believed in, he also fought for what was right for his people not what he might have wanted. Marie Curie, her expretice in science could help meg and the other discover what has been going on with the dark thing, why the town is acting so wierd, and other question they might have. Winston Churchill, a leader who gave the british hope during very hard times during world war two, he showed great courge that might rub off on meg and the other on there journey they fear that lies ahead.
