I do not quite understand the question as well but I think that Meg, Charles Wallace, Calvin, Meg's father, Medium, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which and Mrs. Who are all trying to fight the dark thing.

On page 100 and 101, the kids list of 16 figures. The figures are: Jesus , Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelagno, Shakespear, Bach, Pasteur, Madame Curie, Einstein, Schweitzer, Gandhi, Budha, Beethoven, Rembrandt, St.francis, Euclid, and Copernicus.
Einstein was a theoretical physicist that helped build an atomic bomb during WWII. He crated the equation E = mc² which equals 3.1415926535897932384626433832795
Jesus is a religious figure. He is the son of god sent down to free the people of their sins.
