From my past experience with literary circles, I think the reading groups were better. I find that some circles would be loud and annoying, but it wasn't like that with the reading groups, at least in the group I was in. The only time they were loud was either before the teacher started talking, or on there way to a classroom. The reading groups also gave you a chance to see how the other teachers are in class. Also, for the literary circles, I found it really annoying having to bring your chair across the room, and with everyone doing that at once, it could 5-10 minutes just to GET to your literary circle. So, I guess you could say that I prefer the reading groups. I think the part I liked best was reading books I haven't read before.

I agree with Annabeth in that it was difficult getting chairs where they should be! Having a class for reading groups is fun and is its more organized and focused

I thought that dividing the three grade seven classes up was a good idea because I got to work with some of my other friends in other classes. I thought that the format of doing reading groups in circles was a good idea because it is not always the same teacher or same people you work with.

I have to say I wouldn't call it reading groups. I would call it english class because we're going to grade 8 and it sounds more professional. Reading groups is better than literacy circles because we have friends from other classes and we get to know the teacher's expectations. In literacy circles we get our chairs and we sit in a circle and read the book.

I preferred reading groups compared to literacy circles. This is because literacy circles get boring after a while, because everything stays the same and you are being taught by other teachers. One big advantage of reading groups is you get to experience how other teachers teach, which doesn't get boring. In the teachers reading group next door i enjoyed how he took a different approach, all his questions were inferring questions. In Hagrid's reading group in enjoyed the books he chose, they were both different yet interesting. In the teachers classroom furthest away from us i also enjoyed the books he chose as well him teaching us symbolisum

I have responded to this question in another blog so for further detail look at the Charlotte Doyle blog.
My main points were
1. It's getting us ready for having different teachers in high school
2. It was good to be with people at our level
3. The work load got tricky at times

I would evaluate reading groups as a 7 out of 10. I prefered reading groups, because it could prepare you to got to high school (getting use to the point where you have more than one teacher), getting to learn with people around your level, knowing other teachers only care about the subject that they teach, and not any others, and many more. The things that I liked most of the three reading groups that I took part in, was that each of the teacher was very kind, smart (good at explaining homework, and assignments), and I really enjoyed it, I had FUN, that is the most important thing in learning, is to have FUN.
