Blogging: 10/10 I love the idea of blogging! I have never had a class website with blogs before, so I am really trying my best this year to blog as much as I can. I think next year's Grade 7's will really enjoy blogging, but I think you'll have to talk to the boys who are "too cool" to blog. It is a good opportunity to have discussions that counts for marks but you can do it at home!
Nimh Maps+Quizzes: 3/10 I think the whole idea of making maps for the novel studies isn't a good idea. I didn't get any educational value from it at all, because if I have to draw the garden, I can just look in the book. There's no educational value in that whatsoever. The quizzes were okay too. They were true+false; correct the false ones, but that wasn't any better than the maps. Most people just guess and get a bad mark, so it isn't a good idea to do that either.
Azkaban Chapter Sheets: 5.5/10 I thought that the Azkaban Chapter Sheets were an okay idea. There was one for every chapter, (I think) and they were okay. You just had to answer the questions on the sheet and all the answers were in the book. It was almost too easy to do.
Hobbit Pentagons: 6/10 I think the pentagons were a pretty good idea. We had to show our artistic abilities as well as our writing/reading abilities. The only thing I didn't like about it is how we had to do one for almost every chapter. I thought it was overwhelming and too much for me; because I have no artistic ability whatsoever, so it's hard for me to get a good mark on those.
Percy Jackson Sheets: 7.5/10 The Percy Jackson sheets were a very good idea. We got to create our own questions, (and answer them) which was good to do. We got to make questions where some answers were in the book, and others were deep thinking questions. The only thing I didn't like about it is that we had to do one sheet for every two chapters, and it was hard to think of new questions and choose the topics to make the questions.
In my recent comment I said that Mrs. Frisby and Azkaban shouldn't be used next year, so don't even use those at all. (That's my opinion.) But the Percy Jackson sheets and the Hobbit pentagons would be a good choice, because both include drawing, and people like art these days. It also expands your thinking.

I think blogging is very cool way to get marks, even though it isn't very different than if you just handed out sheets with the questions on them. Maybe it's just the fact that you're using technology for your homework. I'm sure it will interest future classes.
The Nimh map and quizzes were good, the quizzes encouraged students to read everything you were supposed to read by the deadline you were given. If you don't, you'll find yourself not knowing what was true and what was false. The Nimh map encourages you to look back into the book and read carefully so you know where everything goes.
The Hobbit Pentagons helps you develop your summarizing skills, I'm the type of person who writes A LOT in a summary, so the limited space helped me to keep my summaries short, sort of. I still have a bit of trouble with keeping things short, as you can probably see from my other blog posts.
The Azkaban chapter sheets were pretty good, I feel there isn't anything special about it though. The other methods seem to have something special about it, The Hobbit has the dodecahedron, Nimh isn't REALLY that special, but it keeps you on track with your reading and you had to draw a map, and with Percy Jackson, you make your own questions. The chapter sheets were still good though.
The Percy Jackson sheets were pretty cool, seeing as you make and answer your own questions. As it went along I tried to keep the "Four most important things" short and actually fit on one line, but like I said/wrote before, I'm not the best when it comes to keeping things short.
I think all of these methods are great, except for the Prisoner of Azcaban sheets. I pretty much did sheets like that for all my novel studies in past grades. Other than that, I would recommend you use these methods next year.

Blogging, I thought that blogging online was different, because out of all of the teachers I have had, they have never used blogging to answer questions before. I thought that blogging was good. I think that you should use blogging next year.
Nimh Map and Quizzes, I thought that doing a little bit of art in the Rats of Nimh was good, because I love doing art, so I sort of liked doing the Nimh map. I understand that you would do chapter quizzes to see who read the chapters, but I did not really like having the quizzes.
Azkaban Chapter Sheets, I did not really like having the Azkaban chapter sheets. They were not my favorite thing to do with studying novels.
Hobbit Pentagons, I really liked the hobbit pentagons. They were my favorite out of all of the strategies we did while studying the novel. I liked the hobbit pentagons because you had to write a summary and they draw a picture to go with the summary. I think that you should use this next year.
Percy Jackson Sheets, I did not really like the percy jackson sheets. They were better than the Azkaban sheets though. I thought that maybe doing a pentagon for percy jackson would be a good idea.

I'll be rating from 1 to 5
Blogging: 5 out of 5 because I never had a class website before and it was fun blogging about the novel.
Nimh amp and quizes: 5 out of 5 because the map helped us know where did Ms. Frisby go and where is the places. The quizes helped you know if we're reading the book. In the hoot group half the class didn't read the book and our teacher gave us quizes if we were reading the book.
AzKABAN SHEETS: 5 out of 5 because I really liked answering the questions
Hobbit pentagons: 1 out of 5 because it was assembling it together and it took us from december to april
Percy jackson:5 out of 5 because we got to read the book and write questions and answer them.

Blogging- I thought blogging was a good way of sharing ideas. It was easy to do since I spend so much time online. I found as it went on, it got tiring to do for so many books. Its also hard to think of new ideas because when you go to answer some of the questions 5 people will have already posted. You want to have new and different ideas and that's hard when so many people have already posted.
Nimh map- I don't really remember the nimh map, but I do remember the quizzes. The quizzes were fun and simple. You had to read the book and pay attention in order to do well
Azkaban sheets- They were easy to do since the answers were all in the book. They were questions for every 1-2 ch.
Hobbit pentagons- the pentagons were fun! It was different and it taught me about summarizing. You don't want to have too much or too little. Drawing the pictures made them look a lot better. The only hard part was making the pentagon... Advice for next years students ( if they do the same project) - pay attention to how to assemble it. Don't rush. Be precise
Percy Jackson sheets- the Percy Jackson sheets took me 5-10 min to complete. They were really easy. It was a good idea to let the students think of the questions. It was also good that we had blog questions as well because the sheets weren't much work.
Blogging- 9/10. I love the idea of blogging because the whole class can share their opinions and learn a lot o new things about the book. But I took away one point because sometimes it can be hard to stay on top of and answer all of the questions
Percy Jackson sheets- 10/10. The Percy Jackson sheets were easy and simple. It is a great idea because we could write ourselves complex questions and make it challenging or make some simple questions too.
NIMH- 6/10. I liked the NIMH quizzes because they would make sure we understand the book. But, I did not like the map we had to make because I would have rather have done a normal art assignment instead of from the book.
Harry Potter- 7/10. The question sheets for Harry Potter were simple and easy to complete. But... I absolutely HATED the assignment we had to do at the end. It was SOO long!! I would have rather had a big test.
Hobbit pentagons- 8/10. I liked the Hobbit pentagons at first because they were fun, included art and would create a dodecahedron. But then.. I got a little frustrated because The Hobbit's story is a little complex in some chapters and hard to make a summary on. I would pair The Hobbit with the question sheets and Harry Potter or Percy Jackson with the pentagons.
Everything should be used next year because they were useful and taught us something different.

Out of the 5 activities I would rate them as the results below:
Blogging: I would rate blogging, 10/10, because I enjoyed sharing my ideas with the whole class, and seeing what other peoples opinions are in books that we have read over the year. I think this would be a good to be used for next year, because you can have discussions, share each others opinions, is a good way to gain many marks, and people these days like to do homework that something with typing and the computer/ technology.
Nimh map and quizzes: I would rate nimh maps and quizzes as a 2/10, because people doesn't like to have quizzes or fail on a quiz, in able to do that you would have to read the book. I don't think this would be a good way to be used for next year, because no one in the world likes any exams, quizzes, tests, or anything like that.
Azkaban sheets: I would rate Azkaban sheets as a 4/10, because it was pretty easy, because most of the answers would be in the book, which you have to read to know. I think this would be an okay idea to use next year, because people like doing easy peasy homework.
Hobbit pentagons: I would rate hobbit pentagons, as a 9/10, because writing a summary isn't that bad, then colouring the image. I think think idea should be used next year, because everyone likes colouring, and making some type of figure with the pentagons in the end when all 12 pentagons are complete.
Percy Jackson sheets: I would rate percy jackson sheets as a 9/10, because you get to make and create you own questions any way, that is compatible for you, and that it is easy for you to complete on time. I think this would be a good idea to be used next year, because people can use their imagines to create a formidable question, so just them to answer.
