I went to see Catching Fire on the weekend (which was excellent by the way) and I saw the full trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It looks so good. Who is eager to go see the new movie after studying the book last year?

I hate the cold weather. When I walk to school, I wear gloves, earmuffs, a toque, a cardigan and a jacket. I'm still cold after wearing all that!!!
Molly

It was also very cold there, like -3C, so it wasn't that much fun!😂
There were a lot of hotels, so I can't really pick me favourite!

We had our first dance today. It went pretty well. There are a lot more boys than girls so it makes finding a partner for the slow dances a bit of a challenge. But it was great for the girls. They had lots of choice for selecting a partner. Have you been to any high school dances yet? What are they like?

We had 18 candidates running for four positions. Just like last year, I was very impressed with the thoughtfulness of the campaign and the quality of the speeches. The category of president was especially difficult to select only one student to vote for. Come by and visit if you want to find out who won.

All of our classes were shortened on Friday so we could have more time for Sullivan's Winter Extravaganza in the theatre. There were dancers, singers, musicians, poets and funny videos. Sitting in the balcony is scary! My favourite part was the video of the teachers doing dance dares on students. :P

Thank you guys! Our project was about watering 5 indoor ivy plants with different drinks we drink everyday. We watered 1 with coke, 1 with coffee, 1 with red bull, 1 with Gatorade and 1 with water, we showed how bad some drinks are and to show that it could have a bad or good effect on your body.

1/24/2014 12:03:43 pm
What a great idea for a project! No wonder your science teacher was impressed. Please tell, which drinks were worse for the ivy?
Talena

The ivy watered with coffee had the worst result followed by the plant watered by coke, then red bull, then Gatorade and the ivy watered with water obviously had the best result.

Today Sullivan hosted the 10th Aim Games. I was a volunteer for the day and got to make so many new friends. It brought tears to my eyes to see all the participants so positive despite their disabilities. Best of all, I had the chance to talk to Alvyn and pass the soccer ball to him just like in grade seven :)

Grade 7 was a long time ago now. People have moved on with their lives. Some may come back and visit as they get older. At least everybody knows where to find me. Some people still visit this site from time to time. They are likely a mix of former students, current students and general members of the public. The class of 2013 was a special class whose impact is still being felt at our school today. Many of their leadership initiatives are being carried on by current students and many current students name members of the class of 2013 as role models who inspired them. This website at least keeps that class alive in some small way. I will keep it going so long as people are not abusing it. After all it is still a school website. I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to pursue in your lives. One Division forever...
