If Charlotte and Jaggery switched brains, everything would be different. With Jaggery in Charlotte's body, he no longer would have the power because the crew would not respect him as they would think it's just Miss Doyle. Also, the crew wouldn't like Charlotte because with Jaggery's brain, she would be a mean, demanding little girl and the crew would grow to despise her as they did with Jaggery. With Charlotte in Jaggery's body, she would have the power, but won't know what to do with it. She doesn't know how to run a ship, so Jaggery would have to tell her what to do and what to say in order to keep his own reputation. Charlotte would make Jaggery appear submissive and weak and Jaggery wouldn't let that happen. Jaggery would make Charlotte appear rude and brutal for a supposed lady - like thirteen year old girl, something that Charlotte would not want to happen either. The two of them would have to work much closer in order to be able to pull it off. Also, I think sometimes they would forget that they are in someone else's body and would sort of confuse the crew by what they say when it sounds like it should be coming out of the other one's mouth. There are certain things in part one that Jaggery did, but Charlotte couldn't have done if her brain was in Jaggery's body. She wouldn't have been able to kill Cranick because she is not like that and probably couldn't stomach it anyways. Jaggery in Charlotte's body might've done it himself and that would look very weird, creating many enemies for Charlotte along the way. Also, she couldn't order Mr. Hollybrass to whip Zachariah, never mind do it herself. Jaggery might've not been able to do things that Charlotte did on the boat as well. Jaggery would be trying to be his own spy within the crew. This probably wouldn't have worked because the crew would grow a strong disliking towards Charlotte as she would have Jaggery's personality. Overall, Charlotte would struggle with the power and authority that was brought to her as Captain Jaggery and Captain Jaggery would struggle with the lack of power and authority as Charlotte.

Overall, Charlotte would struggle with the power and authority that was brought to her as Captain Jaggery and Captain Jaggery would struggle with the lack of power and authority as Charlotte. I agree with this perspective. Charlotte is too naive at the start of the book. She has the potential to become respected and assertive but is not ready yet. Jaggery is used to being in control. He thinks others should obey him because of his superior status and gender. He would struggle as a girl.

I understand that you don't think that Jaggery(in charlotte's body) would fit in to the crew because of his personality but don't you think it is possible for him to change? I mean he changed to a very kind gentlemen when it came to Charlotte in the beginning of the book so what stopping him from acting like a young lady toward the crew and gain their trust and some information on the mutiny? You never know, it could work.

Actually, I don't think that he can change. When he was being nice to Charlotte, he was just covering up his actual personality with a better one to earn Charlotte's trust so she can put in a good word for him with her father and so that he could have a spy within the crew. Captain Jaggery is a very ruthless, evil person. After torturing Cranick and almost getting caught, he didn't stop, as seen when he tortured Zachariah. After being rebelled against by the entire crew, he didn't take a hint and approach the sitaution with a new strategy. Instead, he killed Crancik, making him even more disliked, and worked the crew harder. So to answer your question, no, I don't think Captain Jaggery is capable of changing.

If Charlotte Doyle and Captain Jaggery switched brains everything would be completely different. If Charlotte thought that she was captain on the Seahawk, with Captain Jaggery's brain the crew would think that she was nuts trying to be captain. The crew would also hate her because with the captain's brain inside her Charlotte Doyle would be a mean captain. If Captain Jaggery had Charlotte Doyles's brain inside him he would be nice, caring and kind. The crew would love that he is being nice now, but I would think that it would be strange and weird if Captain Jaggery all of the sudden was nice.

If this were to happen a lot would change in the story but the ideas I mostly focus right now would be that Charlotte ( charlotte's brain in jaggery' body) would be deceased by the end of part one and Jaggery would learn a lot of information from the crew. First off, if charlotte was in jaggery's body there would be mass chaos in the ship due to the fact she doesn't know a thing about ships also since she isn't used to leading and is used to be lead, the crew would be doing whatever they want because she won't maintain order. Next, the crew at that time still wants to kill Jaggery and they are probably unknown to the fact that Charlotte switched bodies with Jaggery so they would put accidentally put Charlotte on trail and be executed allowing the real Jaggery to waltz off because Charlotte would be very passive and not fight against the crew since it isn't ladylike thus ending the story on the spot, for the main character is now deceased. Another idea is that Jaggery will learn about the mutiny of the crew, for Zachariah will inform him thinking its the real Charlotte about the plan of the crew to over throw the captain so he will begin to plot a plan to nip the problem from the bud and inform Charlotte to act rougher and punish the crew and maybe even stop Zachariah from nearly getting killed for trying to kill her(jaggery) thus creating another path in the story that will make the crew either more obedient since they don't know how jaggery was able to find out about the mutiny and give them the impression that he is all knowing of everything they do or they could go the the same path as the one we are currently on.

If Charlotte and Jaggery had switched brains, the current events that have happened on the ship would not have happened. First of all, I would like to get down to the point. Jaggery is dead first few days of sailing, but Charlotte makes life easier for the crew. She would not have worked them as hard as Jaggery did, and because of this, they would do better work. I say this because she would allow the crew to get more sleep, resulting in the crew doing better work. But also, because she is a young girl, she would struggle with managing the ship. If they were caught in the same storm they were in when Jaggery was in charge, they may not have survived because Charlotte might have not taken control of the situation.

That's what I thought too. Like how would they handle being each other and working with it.

Considering Charlotte's mentality compared Captain Jaggery is rather different the crew may have figured he went insane, while Jaggery will try to do a cute innocent girl act and work his way to kill Charlotte, who inhabits his body. He'd probably recruit the crew and have them tell him exactly what they knew he did. Then he'd restart his ways into coaxing the crew into creating a rebellion and killing Charlotte. He'd probably be made the leader after gaining a whole lot of respect. However then he'd have to face the dilemma of the whole Charlotte's family thing. He wouldn't know how to act as Charlotte since he didn't know her.
Although I highly doubt this will happen in the book.

If Charlotte's brain was put into Captain Jaggery's body, then things would be very different on the Seahawk. Charlotte wouldn't know how to run the ship and the crew would become very suspicious about "Captain Jaggery." Also, "Captain Jaggery" would have to deal with the rotations of the crew's shifts and would have to make sure that the ship is on course and running smoothly. "Captain Jaggery" would also have to ask "Charlotte" about the crew member's names and how to run the ship. "Captain Jaggery" would have a lot of power, but wouldn't know how to use it. If Captain Jaggery's brain was in Charlotte's body, he would probably feel very uncomfortable. Captain Jaggery is a very buff man with lots of power, and now he's a 13 year old girl. If his brain was in Charlotte's body, he would have 0 power whatsoever. "Captain Jaggery" would have to keep asking "Charlotte" about how to run the ship, "Charlotte" would become very annoyed at "Captain Jaggery." Having each others brains in each others heads isn't a good idea, esspecially with the relationship they are having right now.

I think that Charltte would probably get very confused in how to control ship. The crew would probaby get mad with charlotte (who now has captain jaggery"s brain) and try to get rid of her. They would also probably think that captain jaggery was nicer, and the crew would probably have second thoughts about him

If Charlotte and Jaggery switched brains the whole story will be very different cause if captain Jaggery was in Charlotte body he would probably try to convince the crew he is Jaggery but they would not give him/her the respect as the real captain cause they would think who looks like Charlotte a lady so they would not listen to her. Then if Charlotte was in Jaggerys body she would not know what to do if she was always look for answers to questions and she would not know how to answer. Also she would most likely crumble under the pressure of the being the leader and trying to gain contol of the crew and commanding many other responsibilitys around the ship.

If Charlotte and Jaggery's brains switched everything would change. Jaggery would be the nice, sweet, kind ,polite, caring, and good person while Charlotte on the other hand would be a mean, nasty, hateful, and wicked person. Everyone would despise Charlotte and would hate to have her on board. It would be very intriguing to see what it would like if the two switched brains. To keep his mean status and him being the smart captain, Charlotte and Jaggery would have to explain to each other what to do. Though i'm sure none would actually be able to pull off each others personalities since one is completely the opposite of the other. I would definitely be interested to read a such a book where they would switch and it would just be so cool to find out what happens and how they deal with this confusing situation.
