First of all, "the teacher next door" is Dumbledore. I think The Wrinkle In Time book isn't weird, it's interesting. True, the book isn't what usual books are about, but it is weirdly interesting. New books are good to read and you get more information and knowledge of other things. A Wrinkle In Time is a science fiction book, and there are a lot of science topics and science words, which are very informational. I disagree with Dumbledore. He thinks the book is too weird which isn't true. It is slow in the beginning, but it gets better and better. It would be good for his class to read the book, because his students would get more knowledge.

A Wrinkle in time is not weird it is just a bit hard to understand. This book is also interesting and you don't really find books like A Wrinkle In Time and now there are books like mystery and action books that kids read more often. If a child picks up A Wrinkle In Time and reads it they will give it a 5 out of 10. People who love science ficition books will love this book. In my opinion I disagree with "the next door teacher" (Dumbledore). This book is really interesting that is why I have to disagree with Dumbledore.

Actually, I agree with the fact that A Wrinkle in Time is weird. The concept of a tesseract, life on other planets and emotion coming from the heart are all weird and wacky ideas, but that is what makes this book so interesting and such a great book to study. Instead of choosing an everyday book with simple concepts and lessons, Hagrid chose a classic book with big ideas that need a lot of deep thinking in order to really grasp. When I was reading the book, I found it quite odd and confusing, with the three Mrs. W’s and this tesseract that keeps on being mentioned. By the end of the book, I pieced the puzzle together and found the real meaning of all the chaos and confusion. Madeleine L’Engle incorporated all these different, unique, mind – bending ideas into two hundred thirty two pages. She added unusual characters and theories and eventually came up with a fantastic book known as A Wrinkle in Time. The book can definitely be slow at times and in fact decrease interest, but it picks up quickly and carries on from there. The endless questions about possibility, truthfulness and opinion make it a good educational novel. Comprehension is important in this book, but the understanding that not everything in this world is understood is even more important. A Wrinkle in Time allows you to escape from reality into a world where the possibilities are infinite and no perception is incorrect. This book is both a great read and a great teaching tool for a novel study. It is not your average book and I think this is what makes it so incredibly special. After reading it, I now realize why it is called a classic and why it won a John Newberry Medal Award. To summarize, I think A Wrinkle in Time is a wonderful book to study because it is so weird.

I do think that the wrinkle in time is a little weird of a book cause some how tessering using your mind (almost sure tesseract not a machine) to teleport anyone in the galaxy in the simple of one step and all the weird characters like the Ms W's and how they all can change shape talk some funny languages and also use to be a star. Also IT this weird floating brain in a container controlling everyone. This book might be weird but i do think it should be studied because of all the very good science topics contained in this book to study and have a very good discussion about what just happend in the book. It might be a weird book but a very good study book.

I disagree. This is because the "weirdness" has alot of meaning. For example IT is just a big brain which is weird but if you studying IT understand the message that IT is trying to give. (The message is that IT thinks everything should be the same so everyone is equal) The story line is also strange but it gives defenition to the story.

I do not think it is weird to be studying the book because it teaches a lot of different science topics that we have maybe not heard or learned yet. But I guess in a way it is pretty weird because people are going through a tesseract where they see life of humans on a different planet, who are all being controlled by a brain called IT. It is a unusual book to be reading but it is a pretty interesting book, if you are able to understand . You are just having to guess and think what the book is about because you are trying to figure what is the connection between the dark thing, Meg's father and IT.

A wrinkle in time is definately not boring, it is quite interesting.it combines learning educational subjects and making it fun. The entire concept of a tesseract may be confusing, but it makes your brain work hard and wonder how a tesseact works. It may seem a bit out of this world, but with a book like this its completey understandable.

I agree. I think that A Wrinkle In Time is weird, with tesseract and other advanced technology. I think that A Wrinkle In Time is boring and that some students can lose their interest in reading A Wrinkle In Time very fast. I think that A Wrinkle In Time is boring not weird.

Answer continue... The story is a science fiction topic so everything does come together. If the book was a mystery theme that would be weird. There are also many science topics that we are able to study, for example the tesseract, stars, planets, other living forms, the human brain, doing everything in rhythm and much more. I also think the book is very understanding once you get into it.

Dumbledore doesn't know what he's talking about because weird books are always fun to explore you know step out of your comfort zone because weird books have that sort of reactions because its not like something you've usually read. I agree with Annie I mean it is a bit weird but thats one of the things that kinda lures you in. I disagree with Dumbledore because you can't judge a book by its cover.

I disagree, because to me, Wrinkle In Time was a boring but not weird book. One may say this book is weird because of Aunt beast and the rest of the beasts, the three Mrs. W's, IT and Camaztoz all would add up to create a pretty weird book. But in my opinion, this book wouldn't be weird to someone who takes the time to read it thoroughly and to understand this novel. If one reads and understands the book fully, it would most likely become an interesting book. The teacher next door probably just rushed through the book and the cause of that was him having all the wacky and weird topics stuck in his head confusing him. Once he has been confused, he would think the book is weird and one shouldn't study it. Even though, to me, this was a boring book, it is still a good book to study, in my opinion.

I do not think Wrinkle in Time is a weird book at all. It was interesting and informational. The teacher next door was probably confused by the tessering from planet to planet, but if he understood it properly, he would have liked the book more. It may have been a boring book, but it made perfect sense and it should not be ridiculed just because it does not make sense to one person.

I agree with the teacher that this book is weird. It is not like other books, because this book is filled with interesting creatures (like the creatures on Uriel and the beasts on Ixchel), time and space travel (tessering), the black thing, the whole concept of hypnotism, the different planets, and IT. As I finished this book, I learned that this book is filled with many more meanings. This book has themes like, hope, love, determination, family, and many other lessons. I do believe it is weird but, it is also entertaining, inspirational, and educational. It is educational, because this book is science-fiction which also makes it weird at parts but, at other parts this is what makes the book entertaining. It is inspirational because, it contains the themes hope, love, determination, and family. For example, when Meg goes to save Charles Wallace she breaks the power of IT from Charles by reminding Charles of their love and the bond they share between each other, so this shows an example of the theme, love. So that's why I believe this book is "weird."

(Just added to my paragraph, sentences are supposed to be before the last sentence "So that's why I believe...") I also believe this book contains a lot of emotion. (I know I have talked about this a lot) It is because it contains feelings like, love, hurt, trust, anger, and many others. This book doesn't just contain emotion, but the "inside feelings" that are so deep, it makes you fall into the character's "shoes" and actually live the character which means you feel the emotions that the character does.

Yes I do think that this book is wierd, weird as in strange. I mean it is very rare, that an author will write a book about all of these science theories together. It's amazing! I enjoyed this book because it was so interesting. It made me think about all of these topics that I have never even thought about. If you actually take the time to sit down and understand the book with some interest I think that everybody will understand it. It's sort of like Math, if you don't understand the formul you won't be able to apply it to other questions. So if you don't understand the book, you wont be able to apply it to real life situations.

Yes, I actually do agree that this book is weird, but weird as in unique and that no other book I've ever read has had any of the characteristics this book includes. Because the situations and creatures in "A Wrinkle in Time" are very hard to imagine and picture, this may be why some people think it's too strange to teach.
Since this book is so "weird" most people won't be able to understand and may find this book a little boring at first... a little like me in the beginning, I fell asleep during the first chapters of the book, but once everything started to come together and make sense, I could not put down the book. So, I agree and disagree with Dumbledore.

I think the book we are learning isnt weird, its just filled with science fiction that we think is IMPOSSIBLE now but will probably become possible in the future. (For example people thought that communicating from one side of the globe to the other just in seconds was impossible but look what we have now... phones and computers doing just that.)

Yes it's an unusual book and Yes it's the weirdest book I've ever read, but I wouldn't say it's not worth studying.
What it taught me: It taught me about tessering. Tessering was a difficult subject to understand but it would also be really cool if it were available. The book taught me To have more patience. Like meg I'm very impatient and want things right away. Meg needed to have alot of patience with the Mrs.W's before they showed her to her father and with. Charles when he wasnt himself.
I learnt it's best to stay calm in panicky situations. There's no need to blame everyone around you. Once a mistake has happened it's most important to find a way to fix it.
What I liked : The characters were taken to unique planets like Uriel, Orion's Belt and to Aunt Beasts planet. They met creatures like Aunt Beast, the people in unison, the future teller. IT wasnt a person, it was a huge brain. Meg was sent to rescue Charles and used love to break him free.
The book did seem really weird and a little hard to want to read at the beginning but as it went on it got better. The scores were really low for wrinkle in time compared to charlotte Doyle when we voted At the start of the books, but if we were to vote again I think the votes would be higher for A wrinkle in time. The book taught very valuable lessons and had cool parts to it.

It is a weird book but it is definitely worth studying. Books like this teach you the importance of understanding the author and not giving up during the first chapter. I liked how there were many science topics and you could learn quite a bit from just reading a page if you were willing to do research. I enjoyed how it was odd and not like anything else I have read before.

I %100 agree with that teacher next door. The book has a very hard topic to grasp. It is not a book that you would study and also read very fast at the same time. Like if it were assigned but to read but it was like a chapter a week. That would be great. People could spend lots of time reading the book and actually understanding it. But the way we read it in class didn't really provide that luxury. Also there isn't much to study. The entire concept isn't remotely real so what is there to really study?

I think hthis book is weird but you can still study it. Wat I mean of this is that you can study the things like What would IT be if IT had a heart? But never less the book is very weird. I think what makes it so weird is how they all talk about thing that are way over our heads like the 5th dimension and the dark planets, changing molecules so you can walk through walls. All this stuff is way to advanced for use and we can't grasp the meanings of all these things. But the book can be studied.
