Well, the first movie was amazing with all of the special effects and all, but to make the second one better, you have to add all of the important details from the book, cast the right people for the right parts and have good special effects. In most movies, they cut out parts from the book that can be interesting or have some action in it. To make the movie better, you should have all the action scenes in there and cut parts out from the book that aren't interesting or important, so the movie isn't too long or too short. Also, if there are people in the second movie that weren't in the first one, cast the right people for the parts. For example, if you were to cast a short, skinny guy with a high pitched voice for the role of Tyson, it's not suitable. You have to think of who the readers/watchers would want as the character. You would have a fairly tall, buff guy as Tyson, because he's a cyclops. Lastly, there has to be good special effects. In the first one, all of the things that were fake, looked real. In the second movie there has to be even better special effects. When they encounter Charybdis and Scylla, it has to look believable, otherwise, it's not enjoyable.

I agree that the encounter with Chayrbdis and Scylla should be a key action scene in the movie. However, if they can't make it look believable, then they would be better off leaving it out.

Well I didn't like the first movie because it was nothing like the book. What the director should do to make the sea of monsters more like the book is that Clarrise should be in it and they see Luke in the ship.

I agree with Poseidon because the first book was nothing like the movie so yeah the author should make it more related to the book.

Well, I just watched the trailer for The Sea of Monsters and it looks good but I noticed that Grover doesn't need saving and he is not in a wedding dress or getting married to Polyphemus. So I would say to add Grover getting married to Polyphemus. Clarisse needs to be in there and thinks that she knows it all as well. Tyson becoming a cyclops needs to be in there as well.

Make sure to include the killer sheeps, the deadly monster Percy has ran into and also make sure to put detail into the "Sea of Monsters".
Make sure not to leave important parts of the book out like the part where the monsters/cyclops (forgot what terrorized the gym that day in the book) take over the gym and play dodge ball with cannonballs. Dont forget the part on the beach when Hermes came and gave him the dufflebags.
In the book "THE SEA OF MONSTERS" there are so many things you can take from the book and put it into a movie. Just look at Harry Potter: And The Prisoner of Azkaban and the Hobbit, these movies are crazy awesome and they both have crazy awesome books

I think the director should add more events in even if they were minor but had amazing detail in, I would like he/she to go more detail on Scylla because we only found out about her arms and I would really like to see her face. In my opinion I would like the movie to be in 4D because in the book there are so many smells and alot of splashes so that would give movie more life. The director should give us a small summary of the first movie because that way it would make more sense to the second movie plus the books are a bit different compared to the movies, I also think the director should add more tricks, twists and more scenes than just sticking to the book cause that way it wont feel repeated for the ones who've read the book.

I alike Sherlock Holmes loved the first movie! I loved how the water could heal Percy and how he could make it rise. It was also neat how he could fly with the wing shoes and he met the gods at Olympus. In the next movie I hope they show the scene where ares meets clarisse because its rare to see the gods and goddesses. I think they should keep all the action parts like they did in the last one since it keeps the audience interested. In the hunger games movie they have one scene where peeta and Katniss are in the woods and everything goes silent. After a few seconds a creature jumps at them, which caused me to literally jump in my seat. Scenes like that get the audience excited and full of energy. A scene where they could use that technique is when Polyphemus is coming back after his big fall in the chasm. The group could all be looking different directions and than BOOM the cyclops jumps up! I also hope that they show Thalia and tell her story. I found what she did to be very inspiring. I haven't read the whole book yet, so there may be more events that I would like to be in the movie! Hopefully I will finish the book before this blog closes so I can share the rest of my ideas .

I was in a hurry so I'm going to make a better response.
I've seen the lightning thief movie and it was nothing like the book. For the sea of monsters I'm hoping that Percy has the dream of Grover is in danger and his mom serving blue food. When he goes to school a monster attckes and Tyson is blocking it. When they are going to camp the taxi ride should be pretty wild. When they reach camp the bulls should attack and the tree is poisioned. When Annebeth gives permission that Tyson should enter the camp border there should be a struck of lightning. When they meet Chiron and Annebeth says that she swears on the river Stynx there should be a thunder sound. When Poseidon claims Tyson there should be a little trident on his forehead. When Percy was meeting Hermes there should be the snakes on his phone antineye to make it enjoyable, and when Hermes turns from jogger to god there should a flash of light to make it more dramatic. When the 3 of them are leaving. Percy should actually pray to his dad to send the three hippocampuses. When they arrive at the ship Annebeth should wear her invisable hat to sneak in Lkue's cabin and see's Kronos's tomb and Luke's 2 body gaurds.
The movie should like trhe book so it could be more enjoyable than the first movie.

Well, first of all I thought the first movie of Percy Jackson was excellent even though it was nothing like the book, like how Poseidon said, but I like how the first movie made the effects very detailed and effective.
For some tips that I would give to the director is that, add lots of main events in the book into the movie. Some main events that happen so far, is that when the gang/ party (Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Clarisse) goes to the Sea of Monsters to go get the Golden Fleece, the point where the Charybdis, and Scylla approaches Percy and Annabeth, when Tyson and Percy at school in the first chapter, and many more events that is exactly exciting like that!!

The director should add the part where Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson approaches the smoky taxi with the tree sisters, and include many of the creatures they approach during their quest to The Sea of Monsters.

Usually, movies based of books don't always satisfy me enough. I always feel something missing in the movie. But, the sea of monsters has great potential. They just need to add as many details as they can. A technique they can use is to bring in a reader of the sea of monsters and ask the reader what they imagine during reading the book. Sometimes, the moviemakers make something completely different out of the characters, settings and problems. If they stick to what the readers are imagining during the reading the movie will be amazing. Some examples include making the golden fleece very effective by adding a setting to it that matches what the characters are going through. Also, some characters like C.C need to be fitting to the role. I personally love the Darren Shan books and when I watched the movie of the first book, I was disappointed at who they casted for Darren. The actor wasn't really into being a vampire or stealing a spider. This is a example of how the moviemakers need to be more careful selecting the actor or actress.
