What did you think of the field trips to the law courts and bowling on Friday? What was the most interesting court case? Was the bowling session in gym helpful? Was it a good idea to do both field trips on the same day? Please provide feedback.

I thought the law courts and bowling field trips were very fun. The law courts was a very interesting place to be at and bowling was very intense and competitive for my group. I saw some not so interesting cases, but the best one was the one where the lady was charged of credit card theft (she worked in a restaurant) and her boyfriend was somehow linked with drugs. The bowling session in the gym was very useful for me. The very first shot I had was a strike and I payed attention to the direction my feet were facing and that helped. I think it was a good idea to have two field trips on the same day. It was a day to just relax and have fun and not worry about math or any homework. But, we also missed a whole day of learning which isn't so good.

You earned that whole day off learning by working hard and getting ahead of the other two classes in key subjects such as social studies, science, French and HSS. Sometimes a day off learning enables a class to be more focused and use time efficiently. Hopefully that will be the case on Tuesday. Thank you for the detailed feedback about the field trips on Friday.

I have finished marking the Wrinkle In Time blog #3. I am very impressed with the discussion and debate that is taking place. You are demonstrating a high level of critical thinking with a very difficult book.I have responded to a few of the postings (the most recent 4 questions). Six students did not contribute to blog #3 at all (Pandora, Jayfeather, Geronimo, CIA, Narly and Mother Paula). I hope to see everyone on the Charlotte Doyle Blog #3 that is up until next Saturday. Post early then check back later in the week to reply to others. Keep up the great work everyone.

Percy Jackson blog #4 is now closed. Thank you for the kind comments about my HSS class. Big thank you for all the creativity you put into your responses. The Pebbles stories were interesting. The journal entries for Clarisse were realistic. And the One Division prophecy poems were fantastic! I will give you updated scores for the whole Percy Jackson unit on Tuesday. In the meantime, I encourage all of you to join the discussion already happening on Percy Jackson blog #5 (especially the 13 students who missed out on blog #4)..

Will there be a review session at recess for the math test? Is there a make up practice for discus tomorrow morning? Last week I was told there was not but on Tuesday morning kids were practicing.
