Hello everybody. I hope you all are having a great holiday. I have just put up the six study questions on The Hobbit blog. Discussing these questions with your classmates will prepare you to write much better answers on the test. So please take a moment to add your thoughts and to read the ideas of others. As always, novel blogging is also worth extra marks for the unit.

Perhaps it is in the bin at school. You should do an extra one just in case we can't find it.

1. You should know where the ring of fire is located. 2. You should be able to explain the many different ways flat land can turn into hilly, icy or mountainous land over time (builds itself up). 3. You should be able to explain how land can be cracked, broken up, flattened or carried away over time (wears itself down). Use the study guide questions to help you to prepare.

You can select whichever ones you want. Ch 16 and 17 would be good choices. You need 12 total pentagons.

A plate boundary is where two different techtonic plates meet. They can be converging (coming together), diverging (moving apart) or transforming (sliding past one another). The techtonic plates are the solid part of the Earth we walk on. As they move, all sorts of things can happen at plate boundaries such as earthquakes or volcanoes or mountain-building or sea-floor spreading or...

Other way around. They are called tectonic plates. They are actually giant slabs of earth floating on a sea of magma. There is a map in your textbook of where they are located. It looks like a bunch of giant puzzle pieces that have been put together.
