If I were Hollybrass, I would talk to Captain Jaggery and make a strategy or a game plan about what to do. I wouldn't actually make changes without the input of Captain Jaggery. To solve the problems on the Seahawk, I would have a serious talk with the crew and tell them that "Captain Jaggery is a very powerful person and he can put you in the brig or throw you overboard if he wants to, now smarten up and get back to work." If that doesn't work, I would ask Captain Jaggery if we can kill them, because they might be wanting to kill him or overthrow him again.

I know this might sound immature but I love how you always put the option of killing the crew as a solution in the past couple blog questions, I always imagine that you give out a peaceful solution to the crew like," how 'bout we don't kill the captain huh?" and when they don't follow it you go to the captain and say "let's kill them(the crew) all..." I'm sorry I just found that really funny.

The only things is, is that if Captain Jaggery killed all of the crew, who would manage the ship? But killing the crew is a good idea to me......

If he kills the crew one by one I would think that they would know it's him since he hates them so much.
But I like your ideas and they could work, I also understand your point of view

If I were Mr Holly brass i would try to reason with Mr Jaggery instead of whimper and act scared like he did so he would not punish them for trying to get treated better and rights of freedom. Also how he got some guns he could have fought Mr Jaggery if he got into a fight for disobeying him so its a very good idea to try. Also if all else fails you could just kill all of the crew for there safety if the think they will try to over thought Mr Jaggery again

(Found a way to post on the class blog when my brother is hogging the computer!)
I'd probably take a stand or inform Mr. Doyle about what was going on in the ship, so he could stop it as well. I wouldn't kill the crew. It's an act of villainy! I'd warn them they'd be jobless if they don't stop ot they miss dinner or something like that.

I liked the way you came up of replacements for the actual punishment that was given. I completely agree with you!

How would you contact Mr. Doyle? In the 1800's, there was no electricity, phones, emails, computers or texts. And it's impossible to send mail, you're in the middle of the Atlantic ocean!

If I was Mr. Hollybrass, I would talk to Captain Jaggery about Charlotte Doyle, I would talk to the crew more, I would make a few changes to the Seahawk and ask Captain Jaggery about what he thinks I would also talk and be Charlotte Doyle's personal assistant while she is on the Seahawk.

If I were Mr. Hollybrass, I would be more independent. Instead of being Captain Jaggery's servant, I would actually make decisions of my own. Mr. Hollybrass runs around, trying to please the captain and get on his good side, completing tasks that he clearly is uncomfortable completing, but I would take advantage of the fact that I am second in command and I would make orders of my own instead of always turning to the captain to tell me what to do. Also, I would side with the crew because they have the numbers. If they wanted to kill the captain, they may want to kill anyone who supports him as well. Because I would be the replacement captain, I would probably look at the positives of killing the captain before deciding to join the crew, such as if Jaggery dies, I will take his place and become captain of the Seahawk. To summarize, I would be more independent by making my own decisions and I would side with the crew in this situation of I were Hollybrass.

I agree that Hollybrass does complete tasks that he is uncomfortable doing. He had to throw Cranick's body overboard, and he did NOT feel comfortable doing that. He should have stood up for himself and told Captain Jaggery the truth. Captain Jaggery picked Hollybrass to be second in charge for a reason. Hollybrass should have made an order of himself for a way to dispose of Cranick's body.

I absolutely agree with you. I would not be a servant to captain Jaggery after all I am my own person, and I make my decisions for myself.

If I was Hollybrass, I would have a very SERIOUS talk with the crew and convince them to stop what thery are doing and warn them that Captain Jaggery can go very far on punishments. If the crew is still agianst the captain I would give them a warning and tell them that if things go any farther than this I will definetly tell Captain Jaggery. I am sure that this will grab their attention and if not stop but scare the crew a lot.

Mr. Hollybrass didn't really know about the mutiny that was to come so I don't know how he would inform the crew to stop or if he did know and I might have misread or forgot that part which is a big possibility, what's stopping the crew from just killing the him too along with Jaggery since he is a threat to their plan and he is probably in the fort castle outnumbered and alone?

That's a good point Chuck E. Muckle. Hollybrass and Keetch are the captain's first and second hand men. The crew could kill them too. If Captain Jaggery got killed, Hollybrass and Keetch would be in charge of the ship. Then, the crew could kill both of them and there would be no captain at all. The crew would be independent pirates.

If I were Mr.Hollybrass i would actually try to solve the problems
because Captain Jaggery is intimidating and would do anything to
anyone if he didn't get his way and if the mission becomes mission
impossible i would ask some of the crew members to help me because
that would be faster and in return I could help them with their labours.

I wouldn't have done anything different because it was smart of Hollybrass to lay low and it keeps the attention off him.

I like how you thought that way, but I wouldn't lay low because you should always stand for yourself. You should never be a puppet to someone else, especially not a devil like captain Jaggery.

If I were mr hollybrass I would be just as scared. I would do as I was told because I know the consequence after reading chapter 10. I feel horrible that he had to carry the body over board but if he didn't it could have been his body that was second overboard. I would stick with the captain now that the crews scared of him and wait until the ship docks to run away and never go back. In my opinion he is smart for staying low and doing as he is told. I understand why people say he should stick up for himself but if he does he will get severely punished and its not worth doing anything courageous until he's closer to land.

IF I were Mr. Hollybrass, I would try to keep the crewmates under control. I would threaten them that if they attempted to kill Jaggery and the rest of us they would be shot to death. I feel that this is a way to put fear into the crew mates, and they would back down from what they were originally going to do. Lastly, I would have stopped Captain Jaggery from throwing Mr. Cranick from the ship. What he did was a very barbaric. Mr. Cranick had feelings like the rest of the crew mates, he just didn't want to be worked so hard, and then beaten when caught slacking.

I agree with "Cynthia" about how i think it is good that Mr. Hollybrass is listening Captain Jaggery. Captain Jaggery is a man with a short temper and if he got mad i don't think he would be scared to shoot Mr. Hollybrass. so i think Mr. Hollybrass is doing the right thing by not standing up for himself and staying low and in the shadows. the only thing i would do differently if i was Hollybrass would be to stand up to the crew and earn my respect from the captain. i would help the captain in instructing the crew and keeping them in place so that the captain will have respect for me.

if i was Mr.Hollybrass i would take my job seriously as if i was the president of a company. i would always keep in contact with Captain Jaggery and talk strategies. I would also come up with new jobs for the crew to accomplish. I would also punish the crew if they weren't doing there job or disrespecting me.

If I were Mr. Holllybrass, I would have done things a lot more differently to make the ship a fair and better place for everyone on board. I would try to help the crew when the captain abuses them or treats them unfairly. I would side with the crew and help them takeover instead of letting captain Jaggery get away with his wicked ways. To make the ship a better place, I wouldn't let any injustice happen to any of the members because they're all human beings and they deserve better. I would help out the crew or anyone on board with their jobs and problems, trying to be a better person. All in all, I would make the ship a place like home where everyone is welcome, instead of putting up with captain Jaggery's devilish ways.

If I were Mr. Hollybrass, I would keep the ship running smoothly and (more importantly) make sure I was protected from the captain's and crew's side. Firstly, I would be more faithful to the crew. I would try to side with them over Captain Jaggery, because if they wanted to take over the ship, I wouldn't want to get taken down with the captain. I would also try to be really helpful and friendly to the captain, because he is the one who owns the ship and makes all decisions. I also don't think what Mr. Hollybrass did was wrong, it is probably what I would honestly do if I were in this situation (but I would try to do the above). He had to do what he was told, because he was terrified.

If I were Mr.Hollybrass, I would try to be more independent and solve some problems myself instead of always listening to what Captain Jaggery has to say and wants to do. Because I would be second in command, I would both have the trust of the crew members as well as the captain, therefore, it would be very useful to try and investigate what is happening with the crew members and debate on whether or not what they are planning to do is correct. If so, I would choose to side with the crew members, but instead, go undercover, listen to Captain Jaggery and help the crew in secret. That way, Mr.Hollybrass would then have earned the respect and faith of the crew, and would become the Captain of the ship if they succeeded in their trial.
