If you walk under a ladder you get 7 years of bad luck, if you break a mirror, if you step on a crack you'll break your mother's back, if you pass someone a sharp tool without setting it down on a table first and when you see a black cat. I don't believe in superstitions myself, because I've walked under a ladder, and saw a black cat, but nothing bad happened to me. They aren't real to me.

I do not believe in superstitions because the number 13 is one on my lucky numbers. Some other superstitions are going under a ladder, stepping on cracks, seeing a black cat and breaking a mirror.

I do not believe in superstitions because they are fake myths that don't bring anything when acted upon. You could walk under a ladder hundreds of times and not receive any bad luck or you could find hundreds of four leaf clovers and not receive any good luck. Superstitions are "super fake"! Bad luck from opening an umbrella inside is a superstition as well as a rabbit's foot can bring good luck. Knocking on wood is also superstitious and is done when someone tempts fate. Then there is the obvious walking under the ladder and breaking glass that supposedly brings bad luck.

Apparently if a black cat crosses your path, you have bad luck, it's the same with if you break a mirror, if you go up/down stairs at the same time as someone else (The other person going in the opposite direction), going under a ladder, and stepping on a crack. There is also a good superstition that a cat will bring good luck to a ship, but the cat also helps with rat problems on a ship, which is good. I don't believe in superstitions, I don't think it can have any effect on our lives. Almost all of them are really dumb, I highly doubt I'm going to have bad luck if I see a black cat, it wouldn't be any different than if I saw a white cat. But I do think the one about cats bringing good luck to a ship is true. Mainly because of the Titanic. The ship's cat was seen leaving the ship with her kittens on one of the stops before it went across the Titanic. Another bit about the Titanic is that it didn't have a room 13. I guess they really did think 13 was an unlucky number, but I don't because my dad's lucky number is 13.

Another superstition is when you drop a spoon, during a meal, a women will come to your house, if you drop a fork a man will come to your house (or vice versa), if you find a coin on the ground with heads facing up you'll get good luck, and bad luck if tails is facing up (or vice versa, i forgot again). Generally I don't believe in these superstitions however I'd rather have good luck than bad so I try to avoid those things, such as breaking a mirror or walking under a ladder.

I forgot to mention one more thing, if you do something good, you will eventually get something good in return and you will get something bad when you do something wrong ( also known as karma). One interesting fact when it comes to the number 13 is that a lot of serial killers have names that have 13 letters, one example is Jack the Ripper. (just wanted to share that piece of info.)

Most super stictions are just there to protect you. For example stepping under a latter is bad because what if the ladder falls or someone drops something. For stepping on a crack i believe it goes up WAY north where the cracks in the ice are big and dangours and should never be steped on. For 13 i dont know... But if you ask me today the answer is no i don't beileve in superstitions.

The NHL playoffs have just started. One superstition for hockey players is you don't shave your beard until you are out of the playoffs. That's bad luck. If your teammates were being superstitious and not shaving, would you do it too?

I don't believe in superstitions, so I would shave my beard whenever I wanted to. Plus, what good is not shaving their beards doing the Canucks right now?

I woulld not shave/not shave my beard due to the reason that my teammates are doing it. A superstitiion is an excessively credulous belief in and reverence for supernatural beings. It is also something that has no reason or logic behind it. I think that everything I do must have some kind of reason behind it.-usually to improve on things But I do not believe in superstitions because they are fake. Fake as in things that can not be proved real. In my opinion superstitios are things that limit your freedom in life and just add on to your list of precautions. for ex. don't step on cracks in the sidewalk. I mean how carefull am I supposed to be when I walk to school. Its rediculous! and even if I do step on a crack, nothing will ever happen to me.

Some other superstitions are: walking under a ladder and you will get bad luck, step on a crack and break your mother's back, and see a black cat crossing your path and get bad luck. I think that superstitions are just made up, because I have done many superstitious things such as see a black cat walk across the road, yet I don't get any bad luck.

Superstitions are just a belief or notion that are based on no knowledge and as just are unnecessary belief. Nothing happens when you attempt to open an umbrella inside or break a mirror but for some unknown reason people believe you will receive a consequence. Some examples of superstitions are: Bad luck to see a black cat cross your path, bad luck to walk under an open ladder, Seven years of bad luck if you break a mirror, bad luck if you kill a spider and stepping on a crack will break your mothers back. I don't believe in any of these superstitions because I have attempted them many times and nothing has happened. Some good superstitions are finding a 4 leaf clover, finding a penny head side up, finding a rabbits foot, at the end of a rainbow there is gold and if you have an itchy palm money will come to you

I don't believe in superstitions. I don't know many and I never notice when I've done something that will bring me either good luck or bad.

Superstitions are just things people say to scare each other. It is complete nonsense. I only know a few like, step on a crack and you'll break your moms back and walking under a lander is 7 years of bad luck. Which both don't really make sense.

Some common superstitions that I've been told of are:
- Finding a four leaf clover means good luck
- Walking a under a ladder is 7 years of bad luck
- Finding a horseshoe means good luck
- Garlic protects you from evil spirits and vampires
- Crossing your fingers helps to avoid bad luck and helps a wish come true
- Finding a penny heads up is good luck
- Opening an umbrella indoors bring bad luck
Currently, I don't believe in superstitions because nearly all of them are unproven. I think that people can have different opinions and outlooks on superstitions because it may be true to them. However, I still try my best to avoid the things that people say cause bad luck... just in case.

No i don't believe in superstitions, my neighbours have a black cat,i always see him, but i don't have bad luck. I have also said goodbye to a friend on a bridge , but she is still my friend. For some people, some of the superstitions might have actually happened, so they believed them.

Some common superstitions are don't cross paths with a black cat or you'll get bad luck, don't go under a ladder because you will get bad luck, never break a mirror because you will get seven years of bad luck, don't step on a crack or you will break your mother's back, and if you open an umbrella inside a house, you'll bring bad luck. I personally don't believe in superstitions, because I find that even if I break the superstition, nothing significant occurs because of the situation. I believe that superstitions are just there to teach us a lesson and to warn us to not do something dangerous such as, going under a ladder won't bring bad luck, but if it falls it can lead to a serious injury. I also think that a "bigger force" already has our destiny set and that these small things won't intervene.
